This is so different from what I’m used to. I got in right when they were opening, didn’t know they opened at 11:30. I was greeted like I was a long distance family member. Genuine southern hospitality with genuine southern cooking. Absolutely delicious well seasoned chicken thighs! Definitely give this place a visit if you’re driving through.
We were traveling home to NC and found this place on Google maps with great reviews. The place was busy on a mid Sunday afternoon. This is just great home cooking in a simple environment. Dont be put off by the basic look of the place. The people were very friendly and took time to speak with us before we left.
This little restaurant has the best home cooking! The Ladies who served us were amazing. It was like Sunday dinner with family. We were on our way home from the beach and we will be back on our next trip. Thanks to everyone that made this a great experience!
Oh My God! We barely found it! It's right next to a Thrift Store. There were so many cars, I thought it was for the Thrift store. We just took a chance after a friend told a friend about thus Genesis Restaurant. Oh My God, how good the food was!!!!! I rolled out, stuffed to the gills! Even the sweet tea, was thee best I've ever had! The waitress was a lovely hardworking young wo.an named Saymrya. What a joy she was! But Oh My God, the food is delicious!!!!!! Ya' hear me...delicious!! The best!

I saw an episode of Country Style and there was a pop up that said it was Carolina Soul Food next to Citi Trends in Bennettesville SC. I tried to Google that name but YOUR restaurant keeps coming up. Are you the same people?

Totally your grandmother’s home cooking! This family definitely knows how to cook! The Sunday buffet was loaded with a huge variety of meats AND vegetables plus bread and desserts. There was fried chicken, turkey and turkey wings, ham, ox tail stew, white corn, limas, cabbage, collard greens, yams, dressing, rice, macaroni and cheese, dumplings, and the list goes on! It was all so good we almost ate until we were sick! They had a variety of desserts too. We had the red velvet cake and banana pudding. Both were delicious. You’ll want to come here again and again. Great friendly service and the tables looked beautiful in white tablecloths and Valentine’s Day decor in the restaurant. Thank you for the best meal we have had in years.
My husband and I stopped in Bennetsville to catch a midday meal on the way home from the beach. We searched places to eat on the Maps app, and I don’t think we would have found it otherwise! This place is small, but Oh my goodness! It is Full of Heart that exemplifies Real Southern hospitality! Delicious sides and Main entrees, and so much to pick from, you just have to get two plates! Everyone was so friendly, and made us feel welcomed! We will stop again, I’ve already recommended this place to my daughter.
Headed to the beach. Look for a place to eat per internet and Genesis showed up. Read about the place decided to try man that was the best this old stuff. Food was excellent home cooking to the tea. Soul food southern cooking my belly hurts after we left I ate so much. I recommend it I will be going back again and again and again staff was friendly everybody spoke even the other customers would speak to you as they passed just a good old southern place to be . When we entered a lady from by South Carolina magazine interviewed us for her next article we were impressed. She told us it was the second best restaurant in South Carolina
